About Us
Lee Ann and Dave Beatty, the co-founders of Addiction Relief and Supported Recovery, Inc. had a dream of helping people who much of society had discarded. One day during a conversation at a gas station they came up with a short term solution to the financial problem of performing the most important work. They traveled expressways and back roads picking up bottles and cans that people had tossed out of their car windows. They also asked for and accepted donations of bottles and cans from their friends and acquaintances. They received donations of garage sale items and hosted three garage sales to raise more money. Word of what they were doing spread and they received a few cash donations to help with their efforts. Eventually they put together a Volunteer Board who would brainstorm fundraising activities to support the goal of assisting homeless alcoholics and addicts find sober housing and recovery.

ARSR is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) corporation. Support for the operation is growing, but financial help is needed for the ever increasing population of homeless alcoholics/addicts needing this vital assistance. Won't you make a donation?

Dear Friend(s) of ARSR:

I thought it was time to bring you an update on our activities this past year and to give a ‘snap shot’ view of a typical month’s work at ARSR.  I want you to know what a huge impact your hard earned dollars are making on so many lives.

Last year we served a 104 men and women (600 since 2002).  35 stayed at Joe & Shirley’s Place.  Of those, 8 had children (18 kids) who came and stayed over nights and weekends throughout the year.  Fun!  These families are reuniting!  We provided $3,200.00 in free therapy sessions for JSP residents with a licensed MSW.  ARSR paid out $4,659.00 to other local ¾ Way houses for 24 men and women (JSP is always full). 42 more men and women and/or children received $18,538.00 in assistance from ARSR in the form of food, clothing, emergency medical/dental/psych/meds, bus passes, personal items, etc.

Last month, ARSR paid out $1,600.00 in direct assistance.  We placed 7, newly recovering, homeless men and women in 5 other ¾ houses in Lansing a cost of $1,220.00. In addition, $380.00 was spent for food, clothing, medical, counseling, etc.

How you can continue to support us:

(1) Most importantly, forward this letter to everyone you know.  Tell them about ARSR and what we are doing.  Tell them we need more friends like you.

(2) Refer people to ARSR Treatment Services.  Revenues generated here will help fund what we do.  See www.arsr.org regarding the new office.

(3) Please send your money. See our web page: www.arsr.org. to use your credit card for Pay Pal. Save your cans/bottles for us. Every dime counts!

Our future goals include opening more ¾ houses and opening a free, medically monitored Detox/ Center, open 24/7 to help more suffering addicts/alcoholics in our community.  We need cash to do this.  Please help.

I thank you in advance for your financial support.
