Walter, homeless and broken, came to Lansing for treatment from the streets of Detroit. A heroin addict for over 35 years, Walter had been to prison several times in the 60's and 70's for committing armed robberies to support his habit. One day, near the end of his treatment, Walter called us for help. He simply needed a bus pass to look for a job. ARSR got him one in ten minutes. A few weeks later, Walter's time at a local shelter expired. He had some job interviews but no place to stay. ARSR put him in a motel for several nights. He got a job and also secured a room at Luke's House. Walter just celebrated 6 years clean and sober. He is working, married, happy, and in recovery. Walter did the work necessary to change his life. ARSR wants to be there for others just like Walter
CONGRATULATIONS WALTER!
